Hola bitches

As evident with my return to posting, I'm back from Cuba! I thought I would share a few pictures from my trip...

The pool at our hotel. And most importantly, the swim-up bar.

The pool at our hotel the next day, during a lovely tropical storm. Homeboy in the beach-wear is running for dear life.

The beach post-storm. Along the beach? Jellyfish! Probably not the best day to go for an epic walk.

I received many requests to do a food post about my trip. I'm not going to (I like to keep things positive here on A Haute Mess*) but I will share this is dessert I had one night - a deep fried banana with honey. The banana was surprisingly good (it was better than it looks), but I can't wait to see what superpowers I develop from ingesting radioactive honey. I really hope it involves crapping out black Amex cards, but I digress.
*at the defense of Cuban food: I've heard that Cuban fish and the pork are awesome, but these just so happen to be the two things I'm extremely picky about or don't eat at all.

The seawall in Havana.

Old Havana

Old Havana

The capitol building in Havana. I loved all of the architecture there.

It took every ounce of strength I had to not bring these two baby strays home with me. My friends and I sat with them for about half an hour making sure they had enough water to drink. Loved.them.so.much.

Last but best - the beach in Varadero. I'm all for global warming if I can have this everyday. Just saying.
