Marc Jacobs and Prada meet H&M?

Ok, not exactly - but it looks like H&M was inspired by Marc Jacobs and Prada for its Spring 2010 menswear collection. Their runways have had models sporting the man-skirt for a few seasons now (and Marc more notably, often wearing them himself) but look for the drop-crotch and kilt to go more mainstream this Spring thanks to the fast-fashion chain. The bolder pieces are paired with classic styles, demonstrating to the masses that they truly are wearable. Some of my favourite looks from the collection:

I've always been a big advocate of these menswear styles, and the day I first saw a picture of Marc Jacobs wearing a kilt I knew it was going to go mainstream eventually. Thank you H&M, for proving me right.

p.s. Are we Facebook or Twitter friends yet? Because we should be!

  4. great menswear post. love the black/red checkers with the grey sweater outfit, the rolled cuffs on the pants and the ankle boots are great. also love the grey cardigan in the next photo that seems to have a gradient pattern to it, looks good with the burnish orange pants. and have to agree with Starr, would love to see a guy sporting that kilt ;)

  23. Great styling in these pictures. I really appreciate when I man thinks outside the box when it comes to fashion. However, I wonder if the trend will really catch on? It would take one confident guy to pull it off (off the runway)!
