Debate = Settled.

I found this dress back in July and had no idea what to do with it. I was debating between shortening the skirt, sleeves, both or just leaving it. Months later the debate has finally been settled: I loved the sleeves too much and so the skirt had to go.

I'm pretty happy with the results. I only wish I had left it just that little bit longer so I could comfortably and appropriately walk up stairs or outside when it's windy.

I wore this outfit to a soiree last night hosted by Olivia from StyleStruck - be sure to check out her fabulous Vancouver fashion and style blog.

oh and P.S....
To my American readers - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Good job on keeping the sleeves! If you ever get tired of 'em you can always just roll them up...but the length of the skirt is perfect. Looks great.

  3. I adore what you have done with this dress. It was lovely on its own, but a little too mature and old-fashioned. It looks SO much better with a shorter skirt. Definitely makes it look more modern. And I love the shoes you paired it with! Oh, and I'm totally in love with those necklaces you're wearing. So chic! :)

  4. cute dress! LOVE the colour! once summer rolls around you'll be glad you got it this short.

  5. I love the sleeves! I would have kept it as it was originally for a few months and then hemmed it up after a few wears, that way you know what will be most comfortable :)

    Either way, it looks super cute.

  9. Love the color and it doesn't look TOO short. But I do the same thing, once you shorten something a tad too much, you can't go back!

  10. Awesome diy! I think it looks more modern with the sleeves long and the skirt short. Hehe just throw on more opaque tights and run up those stairs!

  13. I think you did a great job... I love the colour and I'm always a fan of sleeves... For winter, tights can keep you decently covered and for summer you can always wear some hot pants, so there's no need to be afraid of stairs :)
